Legal Manager

- Day to day matters including Power Purchase Agreements (for rooftop solar or otherwise), EPC Agreements, Leasing Agreements, supporting all the requirements for all regulatory approvals (including ERC, IRC, etc) supporting mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructuring, as well as for all other contracting requirements for day to day business.
- Liaise with Business Units on governance and compliance issues under the prevailing framework and standing guidelines
- Participate actively in front line negotiations and interface with customers, business partners, suppliers, contractors etc
- Work as an integrated team with Group M&A, Group Finance, Group Tax, Group Assets Management and Business Units (including other Corporate Services units) in identifying, mitigating and managing risks on activities, businesses and projects of Company/Market/Group.
- Review and enhance the Group’s corporate policies to minimize legal and regulatory risks
- Understand, implement and monitor compliance with corporate policies and principles of good corporate governance
- Support the Legal Director, Vietnam in managing and monitoring all material litigation and reporting to the General Counsel and Board Risk Committee
- Assist with the management of the Company’s trademark portfolio
- Understanding the commercial objectives, strategy, pressure points of the business, reasonable operational knowledge with a view to identifying and assessing the risks and legal issues involved, and effectively communicating this to the business unit or project team to enable them to make well-informed business decisions.
- Working with the business unit or project team to think out of the box for solutions to business matters which are win win for Company and Customers.
- Assess transactions and agreements to identify legal risks in transactions/agreements and provide advice and recommendations to the business unit to enable them to make informed commercial decisions
- Supporting the rollout of all Compliance related policies initiated by the Group Ethics & Compliance function, and perform active monitoring of the requirements, and deliverables, including regular reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor Degree in Laws
- At least 8 years of relevant working experience
- Fluent in English and Vietnamese
- Experience working in the energy and utilities sector would be an advantage

- Possess utmost integrity and honesty, have a flair for legal work
- Clear and logical thinking and professionalism as a lawyer, of the calibre to be appointed a partner in a good firm

- Pro-active and interested in problem solving autonomusly
