Individualised Education Plans (IEPs): Developing and implementing IEPs for students with special educational needs, in collaboration with classroom teachers and parents.
Gifted and Talented Program: Providing enrichment programs and opportunities for advanced learning for those who are identified as gifted and talented.
Differentiated Instruction: Delivering small group interventions to meet the learning needs of students with diverse needs (academic, social and emotional).
Collaboration and Consultation: Collaborating with classroom teachers to support the implementation of accommodations and modifications, and providing ongoing consultation to ensure the needs of all students are met.
Assessment, Progress Monitoring and Record-Keeping: Conducting ongoing assessments, including cognitive assessments and attitudinal surveys, to identify students' needs, monitor student progress, and use data to plan and adjust teaching strategies and interventions as needed.
Resource Coordination: Coordinating resources and support services for students, including working with outside specialists such as speech therapists, and maintaining a library of instructional materials.
Parent Communication: Communicating regularly with parents to provide updates on student progress, discuss strategies for support at home, and facilitate a collaborative approach to student success.
Professional Development: Staying current with best practices in the field of special education and participating in professional development opportunities to enhance instructional skills and knowledge. Providing regular training and professional development to other teachers to enhance their understanding of inclusive practices and how to effectively support diverse learners.

Yêu cầu ứng viên

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Learning Support or a related field.
Certification in Special Education or relevant teaching certification with a focus on inclusive education.
Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, and language-based disorders.
Knowledge of various assessment tools, instructional strategies, and assistive technologies to support student learning.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
