Position Summary

IBK Vietnam is seeking a Credit Appraisal candidate to support and conduct independent credit assessments, review credit proposals, analyze customers’ financial capacity and repayment sources, and evaluate industry, external and collateral-related risks.

This role will contribute to sound credit decision-making by providing clear, well-supported analysis and ensuring compliance with the Bank’s credit policies, approval conditions and applicable regulations.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take ownership of credit appraisal assignments, provide constructive credit opinions, collaborate with relevant business and control functions, and contribute to the development of effective credit assessment processes in a newly established banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Credit Assessment and Appraisal

- Conduct or support independent credit assessments in accordance with the Bank’s credit policies, procedures and delegated authorities.

- Collect, review and organize credit proposals, borrower information and supporting documents.

- Assess the purpose of financing, proposed credit structure, repayment capacity and key credit risks.

- Prepare, review and enhance credit appraisal reports, analytical templates and summary materials for the relevant approval authority.

2. Financial and Cash Flow Analysis

- Analyze customers’ financial statements, transaction records, financial performance and key financial ratios.

- Review cash flow projections, sources of repayment, debt-servicing capacity and liquidity position.

- Identify significant financial trends, weaknesses and potential risks affecting the customer’s repayment ability.

- Provide clear analysis and credit recommendations based on the customer’s financial position and repayment capacity.

3. Industry and External Risk Analysis

- Collect and analyze relevant industry information, market trends and macroeconomic developments.

- Assess industry-specific risks and external factors that may affect the customer’s business performance and repayment capacity.

- Incorporate relevant industry and market considerations into credit appraisal reports and recommendations.

4. Collateral and Legal Documentation Review

- Review collateral documentation, valuation reports and relevant legal documents to assess completeness, validity and consistency with the proposed or approved credit structure.

- Identify potential issues relating to collateral ownership, valuation, enforceability and documentation.

- Ensure that collateral-related conditions and requirements are properly reflected in the credit appraisal process.

5. Policy and Regulatory Compliance

- Work closely with external consultants and relevant internal departments to develop and establish the Bank’s credit appraisal policies, procedures, assessment criteria and approval framework.

- Contribute to the development of credit appraisal templates, guidelines, checklists and internal control mechanisms to support consistent and effective implementation.

- Review and update credit appraisal policies and procedures in response to regulatory developments, operational requirements and identified risks.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Yêu cầu ứng viên

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Banking, Economics, Accounting or a related field.

- Relevant experience in credit appraisal, credit analysis, corporate lending, credit risk management or a related banking function.

- Solid practical knowledge of financial statement analysis, cash flow assessment, debt-servicing capacity and credit assessment.

- Experience in reviewing credit proposals, assessing borrower risks and preparing clear, well-supported credit appraisal reports.

- Good understanding of industry analysis, collateral assessment, legal documentation, credit approval conditions and banking regulations.

- Ability to exercise sound judgment, identify material risks and communicate credit issues clearly.

- Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with business and control functions.

- Experience in providing technical guidance, reviewing credit analyses or improving credit appraisal processes will be an advantage.

- Proficiency in English for business communication (Korean proficiency is a plus)
