I. JOB BRIEF:
As a key member of the Executive Management team, the Chief Financial Officer will report to the CEO and translate a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, property management, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships and partnership compliance and private and institutional financing.
II. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. Finance Strategic Management:
- Translate the concept of the BOD’s to the strategy in Finance and Accounting.
- Work with the BOD’s and CEO to create and develop the financial planning and budgeting, and action plan that will meet the short-term and long-term needs of the company.
- Update the systematic structure of the Finance and Accounting activities, and organize changes in Finance & Accounting practice and exercises of the company.
- Interact legal and tax planning in the region; Provide BOD’s with consultancy and legal update in matters relating tax in the regions.
- Analyze commercial impact and advise BOD’s on ROI and maximization of profits using the financial resources.
2. Finance and Accounting framework management:
- Develop and maintain financial accounting systems to meet requirements of the BODs such as to ensure of more accurately recording Gross Profit Margin and of statutory requirements regulated by local authorizations, internal and external audits.
- Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures in the entire company including the report systems of the accounting internal audits, cash handling procedures, dual control with joint signatories for all transactions; monitor barter transactions etc.
- Advise BOD/ BM with revenue management of commercial Risk from concentration of sales Internal.
- Oversee and advise CEO on accounting and finance structure.
- Carry out investigation, comparison of legal & Tax requirements in other countries and come up to discuss with Board.
- Other issues: to find limitations and find how to deal with this.
- Manage the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of as appropriate.
3. Budgeting and budget management:
- Analyze financial statements and propose to BOD the improvement and development needs.
- Develop guidelines for preparation of budget and forecast at all level involved in budget preparation.
- Lead and manage the budgeting process.
- Advise the BOD and BOM on funding applications to facilitate implementation of the budget.
- Monitor, find issues during execution of the budget and advise appropriate solutions.
4. Merchandise planning:
- Lead the centralization of merchandise planning function from brand operation.
- Analyze and optimize the merchandise planning model.
- Develop tools and remedies to roll out the optimized model to the other brands.
- Develop and decide the coordination model between merchandise function under Finance and Brand Operation.
5. Risk management:
- Analyze financial statements and accounting reports to find risks issues in performance trends throughout operation of the company.
- Advise the BOD and BOM risk preventive measures in all aspects relating to the financial perspective in the region.
6. Information Technology in Finance and Accounting:
- Develop interface framework for the reporting outputs produced by the current operating software to serve the requirements of finance and accounting standards.
- Consider the existing accounting software, improve and find appropriate IT solutions to the software for management and standard report systems.
7. People management:
- Present leadership; give direction to the team of the Finance and Accounting Department.
- Monitor, guide, train and develop employees for within the accounting and finance function.
- Advice CEO to develop performance of the accountants based in regional offices to meet the requirements of the Head office and the local bodies in financial and accounting practice.
- Decision making authority for the recruitment of Finance and Accounting Department staff.
- Cooperate with the HR department and the CMs in the recruitment process upon request the accountant for regional offices.
8. Continuous Improvement:
- Continual improvement of finance and accounting procedures in the entire company.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA and/or CPA highly desirable
- 10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in retail industry.
Personal Attributes:
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential.
- Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
